of Maldives by air. The international
airport in Male is the only international
airport in the Maldives or the gateway
to the Maldives and is located 2
km north of Male.
On 11 November 1981, the Male international
airport was inaugurated by Maumoon
Abdul Gayyoom (then president).

Doha (Qatar), Munich, Hamburg, Dusseldorf
and many other major part of the
world.

airport in Male of Maldives include
a bank, pharmacy, duty-free shops,
bureau de change, a restaurant and
a post office. The airport also
offers first aid facilities and
left luggage facilities for travelers.
With the tourism industry booming
in Maldives, about 50 flights, including
charter flights of over 16 international
airlines worldwide operates here.
The airport also provides seaplane
transfer service to the islands.
