Okabe
Thila in the Maldives is one of the
highlights that is located inside
the Bodu Kalhi Channel in North Male
Atoll. With an average visibility
of 15 meters, diving spot consists
of two main parts-the reef of 200
m circumference and thila of approximately
75 meters. The main reef in the diving
spot with an average depth of 10 meters
attracts manta rays in its coral gardens.
A submerged coral rock broke apart
to form a canyon, decked up with
beautiful delicate corals between
the two parties diving i.e. the
thila and the reef. Watch rifle
play in the canyon when the water
current flows.
Okabe Thila in the Maldives is
the most visited sight with a family
of Napoleon wrasses. Watch schooling
barracuda, catch, Eastern and sweetlips
batfish. Witness sharks, tuna and
big eyes trevallies catch their
prey. Many reef sharks are hovering
in an area of reef.
Okabe thila often subject to strong
current is difficult for novices
in diving. With an average depth
of 25 meters, the dive site offers
beautiful place to explore the sub-flora
and fauna.
