Also
known as the North Maalhosmadulu,
RAA atoll of the Maldives has exceptionally
good diving sites with high concentration
of marine species and gardens of soft
corals. RAA atoll is composed of over
90 islands. The atoll has a length
of 65 km and 28 km wide. Located between
5 ° 58 'N and 5 °
20' N, RAA atoll of the Maldives has
16 inhabited islands. RAA Atoll has
several channels and thilas with a
wide range of colors of marine species.
RAA Atoll invites you to an unlimited
number of adventures and fun. The
island of the atoll is Ugoofaaru,
famous for the largest and most beautiful
fishing fleet in the Maldives. Alifushi
north of the RAA atoll of the Maldives
is a boat building centre of the country.
With many destinations such as diving
Bathalaa Kandu, Veyofushi Bodu Giri,
Kakani Thila, Dhonisu Thila, Horubadhoo
Thila and many other places, RAA atoll
is now attracting divers from around
the world. Milaidhoo House Reef, with
an average visibility of 25 meters,
subject to strong current. The house
reef can only be accessed by live-aboard
cruise through the azure water of
the Indian Ocean. Most dive sites
in the RAA atoll can be accessed by
live-aboards only. Hirundhoo House
coral is accessible by live aboard
vessels that has several caves beautifully
decorated with yellow and orange delicate
corals, coral seafans black and shrubs.
RAA Atoll has recently developed as
a dive site in Maldives.
