Thilas

Scuba diving in the Maldives is regarded as the most exciting and adventurous way to discover and unfold secrets of the underwater world. A thila is a huge structure of coral that projects from seawater .The sub-reef was structured in nature or round shaped in the atoll. Diving in the Maldives is seen as acting with the flow of running water or flowing with the current. The top offers treasure fish reefs and caves on the site that houses rich aquatic life. A thila is a paradise for divers because it offers a spectacular view of reef fish, tuna, sharks and manta rays.

Angaga Thila in the South Ari Atoll was considered the best dive site in Maldives for divers. The conglomerate of grey reef sharks is strongest with the tidal stream. You can also place stonefish, snails and crabs on top of the reef. Barabaru Thila in the South Ari Atoll invites advanced divers and is not recommend for beginners. The site is rich in corals and fish like snapper, tuna and shark reef white.
Maaya Thila North Ari Atoll is a dive site best for beginners with tidal arising from light to strong. Tinfushi Thila is about 120 meters long but a thin in a canal or kandu with caves. This dive site is quite a charming place for avid divers. The caves have rich and vibrant marine life. White tip reef sharks, girelle NAPOLEON eagle rays are regular visitors. The best part of diving in this region is to the east and north sides of the thila.

Ukulhas Thila, 300 metres long, located in North Ari Atoll and only 10 minutes east of Veligandu has low air consumption. Due to the strong current beginners may face difficulty facing the diving Ukulhas thila. If you're lucky you may catch a glimpse of manta rays.
Vilamendhoo thila on South Ari Atoll, Bodufinolhu Thila and Kudarah Thila are some the thila that Maldives are famous for. Maldives is famous for magnificent underwater world and the flow of current. While immersing in thila diving, take torch light as visibility factor plays an important role in scuba diving. Scuba diving in the Maldives attracts divers eager to experience once in a lifetime opportunity.
