Before you go surfing, gather information
from local rescuers and do the navigation
check for any hazards like sharks
# Observe the nature of the ocean
current flowing through the water.
# Wipe Out is a term used in navigation
when you fall on your board. Do not
force a way to the surface immediately
after a wipe out. Protect your head;
as it could hit you if the waves are
high.
# Find a balance of your board and
mark it in your chin. So that whenever
you surf, you are aware of the balance
of your board and how it will react
to the weight of your body.
# Stay away from your little fellow
surfers to avoid bumping into each
other’s surfboard.
# If you are a newcomer in surfing,
it is advisable not to surf alone.
Surf with your buddy or a coach because
you can never trust the nature of
water.
# Beginners must wear a jacket or
t-shirt to avoid eruption.
# Don’t paddle with both arms
at once. Always paddle with one arm
first and then the other arm. It is
a wrong way to paddle with two arms
at the same time.
# You will fall if you are in the
erect position while the waves are
very strong in the race. Bend your
knees a little while standing and
surfing.
# Cover your head with helmet when
you navigate in the rocks.
